The trust isn’t THE only path there or even a significant one in my mind. I don’t think “leadership” (leadership of what? DSA?) is “stopping organizing at the trust and saying this is it” at all

Still don’t fully understand what you getting at here but (speaking for myself) I believe the best thing we can to do fight for more PH is expand the number of ppl who live in regulated, publicly funded hsg and so build a bigger movement that way….1/2

so TOPA, GCE do that in my mind. The trust as enabling legislation is essentially a side step in my mind, but one could consider it a big step forward if successfully reduces the number of ppl who are facing RAD/PACT. We don’t know if it will do that yet!

agree on TOPA, GCE but to me, if something is a sidestep, why are we using up limited organizing energy on this, esp w/ unknowns? i understand the material need to meet repairs. i’ve lived in PH w/ private mgmt & waited for 20 years until i saw repairs before i left

and the repairs were cheap and shoddy anyway. so for me my questions comes down to, what are we conceding? what are we giving up? what’s the long term end game?

I don’t think we (again not sure if we is DSA or the left writ large or HJ4A here) are organizing for the trust! I think it’s a distraction for DSA, I wish the org was focused on winning GCE and not wrapped into this distraction and in my mind wholly unnecessary controversy
