S9 is v vulnerable & depends on tenants having political power at the federal level which is impossible to do from 1 state; all s9 governance rights are carried over plus additional board representation; the ability to opt-out of *any* conversion incld RAD which doesn’t exist now
The trust isn’t THE only path there or even a significant one in my mind. I don’t think “leadership” (leadership of what? DSA?) is “stopping organizing at the trust and saying this is it” at all

I think the trust is mostly a sidestep from the status quo but one with opportunity for material improvements in #1 (public $$$ for housing) and a huge opportunity to block RAD, which is a clear backwards step
