Good cause is not a cure-all for the eviction crisis. But the most critical thing is organizing / growing a movement big enough to fundamentally alter power relations btwn tenants and landlords. 1/3

When 4 million tenants are barred from taking basic steps (call 311, form a TA) to exercise their rights lest they face a retaliatory eviction, we can’t grow that movement we need to stop evictions more permanently, and to win social housing. 2/3

In order to win, we can’t just be a movement of rent stabilized tenants in NYC. We need people organized into tenant unions everywhere. We need basic protections to support and encourage organizing - like good cause. 3/3
