“lol” “listening to the local community” ≠ “racial justice” or “economic justice” or “~*power*~ ~*building*~” this is you, right?
and “power building” for whom? the community? or climbers using the community?
you advocate to remove community input: whose side are you on?https://twitter.com/ceaweaver/status/1463350736482357252 …fuelgrannie added,

Yeah, I don’t think listening to the local is inherently justice! often used to opposite effect. I think we should pursue planning that reduces economic inequality / power imbalances btwn those who own property / those who don’t; that doesn’t always mean “listen local voices”

but not in nyc, especially not now as local voices are screaming to stay housed: you seem to have no use for those voices; you ignore them and who’s “we?” do you mean nyc? shouldn’t that include everyone, especially extremely concerned, active and loud community members?

I don’t think I agree w your characterization of NYC: plenty of exclusionary n’hood here. I also don’t think I ignore folks fighting to stay housed - am in active coalition with many of them pushing to win state policy. But we can disagree And by “we” I mean NYers.

How are you not ignoring folks? The outcry from NYC tenants is luxury development has been pushing longtime residents out of their homes. NYCHA tenants are crying out, "Keep public housing public!" Every on-the-ground tenant activist I know knows this stuff in their bones.

I understand it from the yimbys on here. They've never talked to a real life human. But I know this is your day job. I know you're in constant communication with tenants and tenant leaders. How? How do you ignore people's voices like this?

Oh okay, I can specify. Pushing DSA to actively advocate for privatizing public housing over the outcry of NYCHA tenants. Pushing DSA to support racist rezonings over the outcry of longtime tenants facing ongoing displacement. & Gaslighting everyone who calls you out on it.

Oh, and using your group of DSA yimbys to gang up on any members who speak up against your policy, including *NYCHA tenants*.
