Something I am working thru: What if there was a way to massively overhaul section 8 so that it didn’t prop up the (broken) private market or erode tenants’ rights? Then it would just be cash for housing, which is basically an unequivocally good thing?

do the above for all rental hsg + build out public or public/nfp development sector & public banks to use PB S8 $$. expand HUD oversight/enforcement capacity. maybe increase voucher value if certain terms are met?

was thinking about this thread a lot in context of variations of reg agreements that approximate these ideas but don't get there. city deeds to tenant/shareholder-run hdfc per PVH article 11 w/covenant running with the land + appropriating PBS8 $ to finance this instead of devs?

ironically the people i can think of who would probably have the most creative answers to this did PBS8 financing deals at corporate law firms. i need to get them to join dsa
