unfortunately i am unwilling to accept there is such thing as a "shimby" or a "phimby" absent 1) definition for what it means and more importantly 2) a serious organizing plan with base that can get us there which so far leaves us with an relatively unfortunate binary

Little in practice. Messaging wise, Public Housing has a more negative response from normies than Social Housing. It's mostly important to get good messaging out so we can convince a broader public of the benefit.
