i think the left would benefit from a stronger analysis of the real estate industry, it’s component parts, those who benefit from the existing property rights’ regime

That’s kind of my point. Sometimes I think homeowners are a bigger structural barrier to “social housing” (whatever the f that means) than REBNY.

REBNY has put SIGNIFICANTLY more money in legislator’s pockets than “homeowners” - what on earth are you trying to get at here?

This is a conversion about NYC and
@REBNY is without question far more powerful than “homeowners” who may act/vote similarly in some cases, but they do not literally *own* a majority of politicians like REBNY does1 reply 0 retweets 1 like -
It would be interesting to do an analysis of how many donors are homeowners versus tenants versus REBNY tbh. Agree that homeowners are not donating in an organized fashion as REBNY is

A fellow Union member I’ve worked with for 15+ years is a Guyanese immigrant who owns a building in Bed-Stuy. You think he’s out buying politicians and directing policy like REBNY? A hundred of him combined? He and they are trying to keep his basement from flooding.

I said I agree they are not donating in an organized fashion w a political agenda in the same way! I agree w you, not sure why you are attacking me. But I do think it’s potentially that homeowners on aggregate give more than REBNY

The idea that “homeowners” - my 94 year old grandmother, my fellow Union members who work their asses off 10-14+ hours a day to be able to afford to buy a home, and all the “homeowners” I know who help their communities are doing more harm than REBNY is wrong and insulting

That’s not really what I am saying! I’m sorry for offending!
