don't want to wade into housing discourse which i usually (miraculously, somehow) stay above but the whole "affordable for whom" narrative amongst progressive housing orgs seems like it has been a major strategic misstep for those of us who want to expand public/social housing
- therefore. I’d like to STOP talking abt “affordable to who” and start talking about long and short term public value. In my thread, I say there are perhaps short term benefits that value private actors long term questions….

This is true in a lot of our work. A reform can stop hurting RIGHT NOW but sell out or set back our long term fight! I see that happening a lot in rezonings, where the only option the left has is to oppose.

I’m not even honestly taking a strong stance on soho/noho here and have a lot of ambiguity around it, but raising legit questions shouldn’t be cause to call someone disturbing. Esp when I think we basically mostly agree
