don't want to wade into housing discourse which i usually (miraculously, somehow) stay above but the whole "affordable for whom" narrative amongst progressive housing orgs seems like it has been a major strategic misstep for those of us who want to expand public/social housing
well i think that if we want to expand public/social housing it needs to serve a bigger base of people than it currently does, so saying "affordable for whom" makes sense in the context of stopping a given particular development....1/

If we are talking about actual social housing, then absolutely yes. But we are talking about for-profit mostly market rate development. Completely different animals.
