Good evening. I agree 6-7% each year is very steep. But for the last 5 years , I think the total is about 6% total for the whole 5 years while p/tax and insurance go up 6-10% each year. That’s not right either.

a bit when asked about RGB & such at forum hosted by
@tenantneighbor@tenantspacny@Met_Council@rachelholliday:https://www.gothamgazette.com/city/10217-democratic-mayoral-candidates-tenants-housing-nycha-homelessness … -
interestingly, a quick ctrl+F in extensive Donovan & Stringer housing plans doesn't show anything for Rent Guidelines Board in either.

You realize the RGB calculates the increased costs from a formula, last adjusted in 2014. The difference between De Blasio and previous Mayors is his board chose to ignore and undercut those calculations. https://rentguidelinesboard.cityofnewyork.us/about/an-introduction-to-the-nyc-rent-guidelines-board-and-the-rent-stabilization-system/ …

It’s insane -anything less than 3% and 5% is completely inadequate to cover increased costs

When Bloomberg became mayor he increased property taxes. Recession came around years later, and Bloomberg increased property taxes again. Cause. Effect.

One of the few stabilization powers the mayor has direct control over, too

Most mayoral candidates want to say as little as possible on the matter, so they can work the real estate $$ game.
