      they won over the center-left long long ago. and it’s been a process of taking it back for the last 5ish years. “public housing, rent control are failed projects” is both industry talking points AND position of many who don’t consider themselves to be carrying RE water.

      until recently the role of for-profit real estate in solving the housing crisis was essentially unquestioned. (see deblasio 1st election and even I could argue MIH)
