I want to get better at communicating because I want to be able to say that it is literally structurally impossible for DSA (or any organizing group!) to negotiate any type of deal w any type of elected official or policy maker, anywhere.
Unions can negotiate w the boss because they can control labor and have leverage. Issue based groups don’t have that same type of power. Going “to the table” for anything (other than I guess to give advice?) doesn’t fundamentally make any sense.
