I get the point but where does something that looks like co-op city fit in here? Mass social housing, cooperative, etc. The big coops in NYC are much more durable than the HDFCs and sadly more durable (bc of political will and $$) than NYCHA.https://twitter.com/LeftistConnor/status/1435398621453684737 …

I guess there is a major diff btwn community control now (used to protect existing landowners) and community control of the future housing stock

the idea behind NYCHA is that the state represents the people who are the true political community. as always the question we should ask in these discussions is ‘which community’

Yes I get that. But because the state cares a lot more abt white homeowners than NYCHA residents the state more full-throatedly “represents” community boards than resident TAs

Congrats Cea! I didn’t realize you had such authority to speak for
@NYCHA ! Are you on CCOP? When did you move into your@NYCHA apartment? I guess you think being white grants your magical powers to comment on POC lives & make policies in my name. You checked with me when?1 reply 2 retweets 0 likes
I wasn’t speaking for anyone. Just merely stating that politicians / the state are more willing to represent the interests of white homeowners than NYCHA residents, and that’s not a good thing.
