If you didn’t already know governor c*omo was an absolute ghoul, take a look at the new rent relief program. It’s the application of a government that DOESN’T WANT PPL TO GET THE MONEY. 1/x

For context: the Rent Relief Program administered by HCR failed dismally to distribute the meager funds we had at the time: less than half of the $100m made it out the door to tenants in need. 2/x

Now, we have 24x the money, and the OTDA app is even more demanding of info. Once tech snafus clear, I anticipate it will take 1h+ for tech-savvy ppl to apply on their own with all their documents in front of them already. Longer for case workers to help. 3/x

This wouldn’t be so galling if it weren’t 2021. But it is. This app seems to have *no* links to any of the other databases the State maintains: Tax records, rental records of HCR, DMV records, DOL’s UI database (lol)… it’s asking for EVERYTHING. 4/x
