I’m *this* close to opposing all these proposals to encourage office to resi conversions. It’s always been a mediocre idea given the unsuitable floor plates/plumbing but now it’s routinely used by NIMBYs as an excuse to not build. Plus it’d prob prompt a new tax abatement. Yuck.

If there’s no tax abatement I am on board, as it can’t hurt to make it easier to convert from a regulatory perspective but regardless it will continue to annoy me when NIMBYs cite it.
