I mentioned to someone today that we should systematically rebuild NYCHA from the ground up. Build, move families into new building, demolish and rebuild. Jobs program, new green facilities, no lead, etc. Am I crazy?

i didn’t read the Blueprint yet but didn’t know they are proposing putting NYCHA units on CLTs—would this be a non profit entity? u mentioned private so they can get Section 8–just clarifying
Transfers ownership to new, city run trust. Management stays with NYCHA. Board of the trust are NYCHA leadership + residents. The trust can both issue bonds and get Sec 8 money.

It's not privatization IMO but it is financialization. Or rather, the line between public and private is so blurry.
