What? First, yes. Lots of “farmers” are massive corporations and exploit workers, our entire world, and their drive for profit has contributed to a massive ecological crisis?

Yes, that's all true. But the things that drive those processes are more complicated than the simple fact that someone makes a profit when you buy food. Or someone makes a profit when you buy shelter (or clothes, or whatever human need you insert in the blank).

To stay on topic, the relationship btwn home values and zoning is really contested and not clear. Upzoning increases the investment value of the land. Downzoning protects what is there. If homeowners only cared abt home values, they would, in many instances, support upZoning
