Why do you think the housing ideas that resonate with a lot of people--"Mitchell Lama 2.0," "a Marshall Plan for NYCHA," "Green New Deal for Housing"--are all essentially backwards-looking?

Definitely. I guess one challenge going forward is to get people to locate the non-corporate, non-gentrified city in the future rather than in the past.
